Department of Early Education and Care Teacher Qualified.
Obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within 6 months and maintain during employment.
Physically- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., move freely from a sitting position on floor to standing. Must be able to stand or sit for extended amounts of time when required during outside time/ activity time.
Design, implement and evaluate a preschool curriculum, which promotes the spiritual, cognitive, social-emotional and physical development of children with whom they work. Curriculum development should: (1) meet Massachusetts Guidelines for Toddler/Preschool Learning Experiences, (2) be based on the knowledge that children mainly learn through play, and (3) provide numerous & varied opportunities for children to learn through play.
Uphold the written Regulations for Group Day Care from the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
Uphold the written personnel policies of Abundant Life Christian School and Learning Center. Responsible for classroom management and keeping the classroom organized. Become familiar with and able to implement all policies regarding health, safety, and record keeping.
Maintain and assure that children’s records are objective, accurate, updated and remain confidential.
Act as a resource for families regarding child development issues in conjunction with supervising directors.
Complete Developmental Checklists on children as needed following EEC regulations. Keep records of each child’s progress through bi-yearly assessments.
Train and supervise assistant teachers, teacher aides, students and volunteers.
Observe and evaluate their performance and provide ongoing feedback.
Attend staff meetings and be present on the 2 annual in-service days: September’s Teacher Professional Day and March ACSI Early Education Conference.
Maintain professionalism in appearance and in written and verbal communication, with parents, staff, and the community.
Uphold Believer’s Life Style as written in ALCS and LC Staff Handbook.
Assume responsibility for own professional development; identify learning needs and develop plan to enhance professional development; maintain own training requirements (20 hours per year with 6 in Diverse Learners).
